another lace chain

i just finished up this new lace chain and wanted to show it off a little before it went to its new home.
even though the chain was an accident the first go round, i love how it turned out and will continue to make more.

i also have a few projects mid-completion (thanks to a low butane supply.)
i have since restocked and should have time to finish several of my new pieces in time for new release thursdays.

this piece was one of the first i attempted after i got my new stones in march.
i totally botched it and had to scrap the whole thing.
i made a new back relatively soon after, but it took me a while to finish it up by setting the stone, putting the patina on the metal, and deciding on the chain.
this is what i ended up with and i really like it.

i have always been a fan of mottled/ swirly/ interesting stones.
i don't automatically run to the gemstones (even though i love them too.)
my friend john was able to get me some funky cabs last week and i decided to use one in a ring.
i honestly don't keep as many things as i would like, but this one i am almost certain will be shown off on my fingers.

i have FINALLY finished it!
after many unsuccessful attempts to secure the flower and botching the rest of it several times too, i managed to finish this mother of a ring.
i will also be testing out some new photo backgrounds this week.

i have had this idea floating in my head for months.
i did the gem and jewelry show and the only plus was the gorgeous cabs i snagged.
this one i knew would be mine.
i LOVE sugilite and this has great color!!
i finally got brave enough to finish this one up as my prototype and i am thrilled with how it turned out.
i am already planning my week around making a few more (with slight variations of course.)

i still haven't done anything in the jewelry department other than take some pics of finished items to list in my etsy shop.
i did finish my extra long and luxurious purple scarf and a rather sparkly pinewood derby car.
i am feeling a little antsy to get back into things, but i do think this break is necessary for everyone's sanity.

we bought some plants and subsequently planted them and then played with slugs.

i recently participated in the gem & jewelry show here in jackson, ms.
the show was an absolute disaster for me, but i did walk away with a rather impressive bag full of cabs.
i have been playing with them for a couple of weeks and i have some very exciting projects in the works for this week.
(now hopefully i can find the time.)

there are some pieces that you are really proud of, that you just walk away with a smile after completing them.
this pair of earrings is that for me.
i cut and filed the pieces for these ages ago and was really worried about putting them together just right.
luckily, everything worked.
